However, as you upskill your employees, you’ll also want to consider the following five types of necessary training that are often overlooked.

1. App-Based and Technology Training

As more of your workforce becomes remote and mobile, make sure employees know how to use the apps that are necessary for their jobs and that they know how to use their project management platforms, meeting software, data visualization tools, etc.
A lot of productive time can be wasted if these tools aren’t used properly or effectively, so don’t assume everyone knows how to use these tools without a tutorial. In addition, train your employees in cybersecurity so that they don’t inadvertently compromise your organization’s data or systems.

2. Training Programs for How to Conduct Meetings

Seventy-one percent of managers think that the meetings they attend or run are unproductive or inefficient, and most of them think that meetings miss crucial teambuilding and collaborative opportunities. Train your employees on when and how to conduct meetings so that valuable time isn’t wasted.

3. Training Employees How to Work Remotely

As your organization embraces remote work, don’t forget to expose your employees to best practices for working remotely. Most employees will need guidance and training on communication skills and how best to manage their time when working with remote and mobile teams. And again, they will need to be trained on how to use certain technologies and platforms to complete their everyday responsibilities.

4. Business Writing and Business English Training

As workplaces become more mobile, they’re also becoming more global. So, if your business conducts business primarily in an English-speaking country, you’ll want your employees to practice and learn Business English so communications can be streamlined and common communication obstacles overcome.

5. Business Etiquette Training

Business etiquette training will teach your employees how to be punctual, prepared, and so much more. It will help them, and your organization, prosper in a fast-paced and global economy, as well as build meaningful relationships and business partnerships globally.
