Flight Simulation

Army pilots are using flight simulators to learn how to operate aircrafts carrying vital supplies and transporting wounded soldiers to safety. These simulators have increased several training operational efficiencies and have saved money, fuel, and other expensive resources.
They also enable highly experienced officers and pilots to coach pilot trainees as they learn how to fly aircrafts in stressful, vicarious, and hazardous situations, so the trainees can benefit from others’ knowledge and expertise firsthand as they’re encountering stressful situations. And the simulators familiarize newer pilots with intense entrance and exit procedures, as well as start-ups, shutdowns, and basic task flight instruction.

Battlefield Simulation

New recruits are now immersed in virtual simulations to learn tactical training, experimentation, and mission rehearsal for land, sea, and air. Trainees are immersed in a high-fidelity, multiplayer virtual environment where they can experience live warzones, open fire, and assaults in a real-world environment that’s safe.
Different terrains and missions can be implemented in the simulated environments, as well as intense and scenario-based scenes. Trainees can undergo crew training, IED training, and convoy training. And they can learn how to handle checkpoints, operate military vehicles, and more.

Simulated Medic Training for the Battlefield

Medics are immersed in virtual scenarios where they experience how to tend to the wounded during live warfare. A virtual body they encounter can be configured to reveal a variety of injuries medics will have to treat on the battlefield, including those caused by bullet wounds and explosives.
They also focus intently on how to tend to hemorrhage, blocked airways, and collapsed lungs, which are the top three conditions and injuries associated with preventable battlefield deaths. Medics also learn how to interact and talk to their patients during training simulations, as well as how to get patients safely evacuated.

Virtual Boot Camp

Virtual boot camp simulators are highly effective because they can be customized to fit each recruit’s job or specialization, as well as his or her specific branch of service. Whether the recruits are in the Navy, Army, or Air Force, they are immersed in simulations that help them learn kill drills and relevant physical fitness routines and requirements and other areas that require development during boot camp.
Virtual boot camp also frees up many trainers (aka drill sergeants) because it requires fewer instructors to be present as recruits go through boot camp, so they can go back to the field or partake in other necessary duties.
All the military training trends listed above will become essential to saving lives in the battlefield in the next few years.
