The Drexler Sibbet Model of High Team Performance: Three Final Stages

In yesterday’s Advisor, Cara Parker, MBA, PMP, discussed high-performing teams and presented the first four of seven stages toward building them through the Drexler Sibbet model. Today, she presents the final three stages, along with an infographic of the process.

Parker is the CEO and founder of C Parker Consulting, Inc. (CPC), which is focused on propelling organizations toward higher performance. In her years working for corporate, government, and nonprofit organizations, Parker has developed a broad range of skills resulting in a systems-based approach to project management and organizational development.
Here are the final three of Drexler/Sibbet’s seven stages (Click here to review stages one through four):

  1. Implement! This is the fun stage where all the planning pays off. And, by the way, if stages one through four are in place, implementation is never as hard as you originally thought.
  2. Rock the high performance. This stage is marked by the team’s high trust, evidenced by the ease of flexibility and change when necessary. Expectations are surpassed on deliverables.
  3. Renew the team. Don’t forget reward and recognition. The team needs to be reenergized. Revel in success, learn from mistakes, and actively prepare for a new cycle of action!

So, what stage is your team in? I hope you are working your way through each stage in order to produce an effective and timely product or service. But if not, that’s OK. Drexler/Sibbet makes it easy to diagnose the behaviors you don’t want and turn them into behaviors you do want within each stage.
